Costume Discounters Review

I was asked to do a review on Costume Discounters . I happily agreed. Every year we go crazy finding just the right costumes for the kids in the family. This year it was  my niece who needed the perfect Halloween Costume. So off I went to the Infant, Toddler and Baby page. My Great Niece is two years old and so into Fairies , she loves anything that has to do with them. She has dolls, cups, shoes, clothes etc... all with fairies. So I of course went searching for Fairy Costumes for a 2 year old little girl.

This is the one my sister , niece and I decided on Plum Pixie Costume. I ordered it and it was here in a few days. Super fast delivery, I love that!!!

It came with a Purple chiffon dress with a velour top, gossamer wings, a wand and a  flowered headpiece. It is great quality, not only will she be able to wear it for Halloween, but it is pretty durable, I know it will be in her dress-up wardrobe for a very long time. (It's her favorite right now, she hates taking it off)

It is hand washable, easy to care for. The discounted price is very reasonable. I am 100% sold on Costume Discounters. They have everything you could possibly need for your costume party or Halloween, from baby to Adult Costumes, Pet Costumes to Decorations and Props. You can't go wrong by checking them out, I bet you find just what you are looking for.

And now, I introduce you to my adorable Great Niece Eryka in her Plum Pixie (Fairy, has to be called Fairy, I won't make that mistake again, Eryka did not like it being called Pixie) Costume. How smoochable is this cutie?

Don't you just love it? Go check them out and see if you can find you or your child's perfect costume. You won't be sorry, I promise.

Shula My Male Umbrella Cockatoo

Shula came to me through a local ad in a bargain hunter magazine 9 years ago. He was in a home with two little boys who poked him constantly with sticks.

He is now 17 years old and is a total clown. His favorite song to sing is "I Love You" by Barney. His favorite dance is the Mexican Hat dance, (well kind of, it's his favorite song to dance to) He loves to sit on my shoulder and play with my hair. He's mommy's boy all the way, he'll go to anyone, loves everyone, but he is all mine.

Cockatoos tend to mate for life and since he and Angel (my female Umbrella) do not like each other, only tolerate each other, I have been chosen as his mate.

His favorite treat is Cheeze-its, which he loves to share with anyone who will take it from him. He loves to destroy rope and wood toys and loves toys with loud bells, he will ring them until he just about makes you crazy. He's a sweetheart who loves to clown around, hang upside down and sing and dance until you make him stop.....he would seriously go all night if you let him.

He loves to be scratched on top of his head and under his wings and will sit and cuddle with you for hours.

Without further ado, here is my baby boy Shula:

Mollie- The Giant Flemish Rabbit

So, we have had Mollie for about 2 weeks now. Mollie was found by Rich's brother. He found him in a local paper. She was being given away as "food" or pet Rabbit . (could a domestic Rabbit even be eaten? Isn't it Hare's that are considered eatable?) Anyway, that is all BIL had to see. He went and got her KNOWING Rich would "save" her from such a fate. And of course Rich said yes. ( Do you think Rich's brother knows him well? And do you think the guy advertising her knew there would be an animal lover out there who would fall for his "food comment?)

Anyway, she comes home and it was love at first site. She is 17 lbs. Has Calico coloring and is a huge love bug. She adores being scratched between the ears and will sit there for an hour cooing and chilling. BTW, if you dare to stop because your hand is tired, she'll put her head under your hand and nudge you.

Her favorite snack are raisins. She will come out at least once a day (she pretty much lies under the bed unless she wants some loving or her snack,  chase you around and stomp her back feet at you until you grab the Raisin bag and give her a handful.

She is litter box trained , is set in her routine, out of her cage in the morning by 7, in her cage around 8 at night to go to bed. If you are one minute late opening that cage door in the morning she bangs her head of the door.

She has her toys, her bed and her favorite foods and fruits or veggies and hates any disruption to her routine.

In two short weeks, she is as much a part of this family as if she has always been here. She makes us laugh every day with her antics.

And so, without further ado, here is Mollie:

Due to circumstances beyond my control.....

I have neglected my blog.

Tough  winter for me. First my guy gets broadsided by an idiot who was speeding and talking on a cell while yelling at his 3 kids. Flipped him on his side and through 3 lanes of traffic. He has been out of work since and may need surgery on his shoulder. He's been in physical therapy since October and it's just not getting better. He'll know on the 15th if surgery is needed.  So of course with him being out of work, things have been ridiculously bad around here. We had exhausted our bank accounts, checking and savings. We borrowed from everyone we knew just to heat our house, feed us and our pets. We finally had to swallow our pride and ask for help from the local heating program. we've never received assistance before and it was next to impossible for my proud SO  to ask at first. He has always worked. He has had 3 different businesses all going at the same time since I have known him. To not be able to provide for his family was not easy for him to swallow.  we got the assistance and stayed warm and through the same program got 1/3 of our electric paid and 1/3 off of our electric for the next year and received one months emergency food stamps to hold us over until the guys personal injury protection kicked in and started sending him a weekly check. We can't even settle this whole thing until we know if he needs surgery and how much longer he will be out of work. not fun.

On top of that, I  got pneumonia in November, thought I was over being sick and ended up with Strep Throat in December, then got the Flu in January. I still have a cough to this day from all this, although that is slowly going away, I only have 1 or 2 coughing fits a day now. I slacked off on working out on my treadmill (well, I couldn't use it, one turn of that belt and I almost died with the coughing fit it brought on) so now I have added pounds I do not need, I am flabby and out of shape and nothing fits. OH JOY!! Lucky for me, the nice weather has finally hit my area and the snow banks blocking a cars view of me on the road walking or jogging are gone, so starting Monday I am walking every day and getting back on the treadmill every other day to do my 30 minute ab workout. Hopefully the pounds will start melting off and the muscles will start to tone up again. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Of course I would love to do a weight loss program like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig  or Nutri-System to help out, but how they expect people to afford those things is beyond me. How can I justify spending money on food solely for me when we are still barely making it? Those programs are a real sore spot with me (but, I digress, I will post about my thought on this another day, boy will I)

Anyway, starting tomorrow, I will post once a day with each pet we have, how they came to be with us and some pics of them. I'll start with Mollie, our Giant (oh boy is she) Flemish Rabbit that hubby just had to rescue.

In between the stories of each of the pets, I will rant and rave, share my views on things most of you probably won't care about and other assorted ramblings. ( Yes, I tend to ramble, so be prepared)

until tomorrow my friends........be kind to one another and always tell the people in your life how much they mean to you. I almost lost my love and I make sure he knows everyday how special he is to me, I'll never take that for granted again.

Yoplait Prize Pack Giveaway Sponsored by MyBlogSpark

When I was asked to join the My Blog Spark Yoplait campaign, I was very excited. This is the cream of the crop, a MyBlogSpark  giveaway? Me? Oh yes, I will do that in a heart beat.
First of all, I love yogurt, second it's an honor to be part of a MyBlogSpark campaign.

So I got the prize pack of items geared to help me get fit last week, a VIP Coupon for a free sample of Yoplait Original yogurt, as well as a duffel bag, jump rope, water bottle and sport towel from from Yoplait  through MyBlogSpark

Not only did I get my free cup of Yogurt right away, but I wanted to use the other items so I could be honest in my opinion of the items I received.

I have to tell you, I love Yogurt to begin with, but I had not had a Yoplait in quite a while, I have been eating another brand. The Yoplait was amazing. Much better than I remember. This will be my new go to brand for sure. But, not only did I try the Yoplait, I tried the jump rope and can I just say, I love it, what a great workout and as an added bonus, I felt like a little kid again! I hadn't jumped rope in so long, I was a little awkward at first, but once I got the hang of it again, I was hooked. I actually look forward to jumping everyday. I feel great after and I have a ball doing it. Who knew such a simple thing would make me feel so good? I gave it a week to see if I would get bored, but no, no boredom, I am having a blast and on top of that, it's good for me, who knew?

Yoplait recently reformulated their Yogurt to add 50% more Calcium and with all the Yoplait flavors, you'll never get bored with eating it.It's great to know I am getting half of my daily Calcium and Vitamin D in one little container of Yogurt. YEAH YOPLAIT!!!

The only thing I wasn't thrilled with is the glass water bottle. Too heavy to carry for a walk, not good for a jog on my treadmill and the opening is too big for me, I tend to dribble  water down my front when I drink from it (of course, that is just me, I tend to be a bit of a clutz and have problem with these types of things.lol) . But I do use it around the house.

Visit Yoplait on Facebook and like them for a free cup of Yoplait to help you get the Calcium you need

So would you like to win a Yoplait prize pack of your own from MyBlogSpark and feel a little bit like a kid again for a few minuted each day? Here's your chance to win the same prize pack I received:
Yoplait Fitness Gift Pack with Yoplait Original yogurt free product coupon, duffel bag, speed rope, water bottle and sport towel
